In putting together the league and goaltender charts posted the other day, I also decided to create individual team charts for each team in the ECHL as of the morning of 2/17/21. The horizontal axis is skater plus/minus, the vertical axis is points, the color represents penalty minutes (lighter shade is more penalty minutes), circles are forwards, squares are defensemen, and the size of the mark is the number of shots on goal. Two teams playing tonight in the ECHL, the Orlando Solar Bears and the Florida Everblades are shown here.

It can be seen from the Orlando chart that their top scorers, forward Aaron Luchuk and defenseman Mark Aud are heavy negative players that despite their relatively high point totals for this stage of the season, they have been on the ice for many more goals allowed than scored at even strength. Former Sabres fifth-round draft pick Devante Stephens has shown a steady hand on defense for the team, leading in plus-minus and picking up some goals and assists (3 each) along the way.

Florida is one of the top teams in the league (best goal differential per game) with stellar goaltending (as shown in yesterday’s post). Scoring for the team has been driven by Michael Huntebrinker, John McCarron, Alex Kile, and Blake Winiecki. Defensively, Logan Roe (who ironically spent some time with the aforementioned Devante Stephens in the AHL with Syracuse last year) has an impressive +25 plus/minus. This should not be surprising to fans of the Everblades, however, as Roe has posted greater than 30 plus/minus figures each of the past 3 seasons in Florida.
