The SeeSports NFL Watchability Index helps fans identify the most compelling games each week before kickoff. Using betting market expectations and preseason team projections, each matchup receives a Watchability Index based on three factors: projected team quality (40%), expected competitiveness (30%), and projected scoring (30%).
Games in the upper-left of the chart are generally expected to provide the best combination of close competition and offensive excitement. Use the Viewing Board to decide which game deserves the main screen—and which matchups belong on your second and third screens throughout the weekend.

The NFL season begins with several intriguing matchups, and the SeeSports Watchability Index highlights the games that project to offer the best viewing experience before a single snap has been played.

The scatterplot summarizes every Week 1 matchup using current betting market expectations. Games located farther to the left are projected to be more competitive based on the point spread, while games positioned higher on the chart carry larger projected point totals. Larger markers represent stronger combined team quality based on preseason win-total expectations, and the number beside each matchup is its overall Watchability Index.

Week 1 features an outstanding matchup at the top of the rankings, with Tampa Bay at Cincinnati earning the highest Watchability Index (63.7). The game combines two teams expected to contend for playoff spots, a relatively close point spread, and the week's highest projected scoring total, placing it squarely in the chart's premium viewing zone.

Just behind it is San Francisco vs. Los Angeles Rams (63.2), the Thursday night opener, followed by Baltimore at Indianapolis (61.9). Buffalo at Houston (60.9) and Green Bay at Minnesota (60.7) round out the top five, giving fans several compelling options throughout opening weekend.

One interesting aspect of the Viewing Board is that high-quality teams alone do not guarantee a high Watchability score. For example, Denver at Kansas City features one of the league's premier teams but receives a lower rating because the betting market projects a less competitive game. Likewise, some games with relatively close point spreads rank lower because of more modest projected scoring or lower combined team quality. The Watchability Index is designed to balance all three components rather than emphasizing any single factor.
